The basics

Picture

We envisage that a world basic income would be:
  • A global scheme that gathers and redistributes money
  • Money would be regularly given to every person, whatever their circumstances, and no matter where they live
  • This money would be in addition to what each person earns at work or receives in UBI or benefits from their national government

A world basic income would redistribute money to achieve greater social justice and to secure each individual's right to life.

How much would each person get?

Basic income proposals have varied from a few dollars to over 2000 Euros a month.
The right amount depends on funding, poverty levels and other factors.

Where would the money come from?

A world basic income would ideally be funded by tapping into global wealth flows that currently don't benefit people as much as they should.
